The best bowl game so far just happened to be where the peach dropped on New Year’s Eve. That’s right, in Atlanta, GA in the Georgia Dome where the Chick-fil-a Bowl is played at. LSU and Clemson played a great game allowing for a great way to bring in the New Year of 2013. Clemson earned some recognition back finding their marquee win of the season and even earning respect for the ACC. Both teams played a great game until the very last second.
The amazing stat of the night was how Clemson broke 100 offensive plays and LSU barely broke 50. The game was looking to get away from Clemson as LSU took a 24-13 lead going into the 4th quarter, but Clemson started to storm back having 189 of its 445 offensive yards in the 4th quarter. LSU looked like they could have milked the clock on their last offensive drive but three incompletions allowed Tajh Boyd and the Clemson offense to have plenty of time to set up the last second Chandler Catanzaro field goal for the Clemson win.
Tajh Boyd and Deandre Hopkins both had amazing games leading the Tigers to the win. If both come back they will be next years favorites to win the ACC.
