Way Too Early 2013 Top 25

Coaches Trophy

Let me present you the Fifth Quarter way too early top 25. With Alabama sewing up their third national title in four years it shouldn’t be much of a surprise who will be on top to start the year. Also it shouldn’t be a surprise which conference will dominate the top 25. But there seems to be some dark horses among us which can take the power away from Alabama and the SEC. The last year before the playoffs every team wants to end the BCS #1 vs. #2 era off with a national championship.

#1. Alabama: 3 out of the last 4 national titles, they deserve to start here, especially with AJ McCarron leading the team again.

#2. Oregon: Chip Kelley comes back with a lot of returning speed, if they get past Stanford unlike last year they will be in the championship game.

#3. Texas A&M: Johnny Football comes back with most of his huge offensive line and a great recruiting class coming in.

#4. Ohio State: The Buckeyes and Urban Meyer should easily go through a weak Big 10 and their strongest out of conference opponent is San Diego State. 12-0 could happen again.

#5. UGA: The tandem of Aaron Murray and the two-headed RB monster Gurschell can lead the Dawgs to another SEC East title but the gators and cocks will be waiting for them.

#6. Florida State: I know, I know. The Seminoles are always up this high but remember last preseason they were ranked within the top 10 and looked where they finished. The Noles still have elite talent on defense, and with the emergence of James Wilder Jr. The right QB could lead the Noles to Pasadena.

#7. Louisville: Charlie Strong and Teddy Bridgewater will keep getting better and better. Plus they have one more year in the weak Big East before leaving the ACC. 12-0 is a very good possibility with that schedule.

#8. South Carolina: Jadeveon Clowney. The ol’ ball coach. Connor Shaw. Ace Sanders. Easily a top 10 team.

#9. Clemson: the most impressive thing about the 2012 Clemson tigers is that they did not lose to anyone they shouldn’t have. Get past FSU and the ACC is theirs.

#10. Texas: this is the year that the recruiting classes will align for Mack Brown.
