Over the past 30 years FSU has not only been consistent on the field but also in the recruiting circles. No school has recruited as consistent as The Seminoles of Florida State. Bobby Bowden made it hard for any recruit to tell him no, he could woo any mama, and seal the kid of with some Ann Bowden banana pudding. With national signing day tomorrow nobody showed up on that day better than Bobby Bowden. He always brought in surprises on national signing day. Who could forget former Florida State running back Antone Smith during the 2005 signing day. At the time he was committed to Miami (FL) but Bobby Bowden came to close that day and Smith signed with the Noles. He had a very productive career for the Noles leading the ACC in touchdowns his senior year and is now a member of the Atlanta Falcons. This all leads to the new closer in town now that Bobby has been gone.
That’s right his name is Jimbo Fisher and he has gotten a lot of heat from Seminole fans but it looks like he is walking right in Bobby’s foot steps and making some moves before signing day. Just today he received a commitment from the best player in the state of Tennessee and the 10th best player in the nation according to rivals. Jalen Ramsey a five-star cornerback from Nashville, Tennessee just flipped his commitment from USC to Florida State. This looks like a swing of momentum for FSU to finish off this recruiting season on an amazing note. Tomorrow can be a big day for the Noles as they are still in the running for #14 Laremy Tunsil and #15 Matthew Thomas. It will also be interesting to see what gems the Noles will sign tomorrow as they traditionally find underrated recruits close to Tallahassee.
